Love God. Love People.
These two commands, given by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-40 and rooted throughout the Scriptures, form the foundation of everything we are and do at Lake Shore Baptist Church. Without them, any strategy, ministry, or effort we pursue will lose its power and purpose. But when these two commands become the lens through which we see all of life, the church becomes a living testimony of God’s love and truth.
Make Disciples. Mobilize Disciples. Multiply Disciples. Model - Mentor - Magnify - Discipleship.
Discipleship is not a program; it’s the mission Jesus gave His church. At Lake Shore Baptist Church, we believe discipleship should be intentional, relational, and reproducible. That’s why the 276 Initiative outlines six core aspects of discipleship - each one grounded in Scripture and essential to fulfilling our calling. These aren’t isolated steps or stages; they’re interwoven habits that shape every believer’s journey from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity.
Authority. Authenticity. Appreciation. Approachability. Advancement of the Gospel. Ask. Aim to Glorify God.
The 7 Values of the 276 Initiative represent the heartbeat of Lake Shore Baptist Church. These aren’t simply words on paper - they are the characteristics we strive to embody as people transformed by Jesus. These values shape our culture, inform our priorities, and guide every decision we make as a church family. In a world of shifting values and fading convictions, these biblical principles keep us anchored to God’s truth and aligned with His mission.
